Hear that sound? No?

That's the sound of a Bosch dishwasher. Seriously.

At one point during the Bosch Bloggers retreat that I attended in California in May, we were sitting in a small room filled with various models of Bosch dishwashers. The Bosch folks demonstrating the various features of their award winning products, most especially how they build them for quiet operation.

The were showing us the many features that are built in when they opened one of the washers to reveal that it was mid washcycle. I was literally sitting right next to it and never heard a noise. In fact, they kept getting complaints from buyers because they were getting a face full of steam when they'd open the door during the wash cycle, having forgotten that the machine was on. So, a smallness LED light was added to the underside of the door which projects a small red dot on the floor to remind owners that it's running.

Bosch dishwashers have been ranked highest in customer satisfaction by J.D. Power and Associates in its 2012 Kitchen Appliances Study. While Bosch earned the highest score in the industry in performance and reliability, they also shined in other areas of the study, including ease of use, features, styling and appearance, price and warranty.
